9/5 MLB High Scoring Games

It’s windy in the North East with some MLB games expected to have winds over 20 mph. The direction of that wind plays a key role in determining unders vs overs and, with the right conditions, can greenlight player props and parlays for high scoring games.
First up we have the Nationals vs Cubs with the total set at 10.5. The average runs per game at Wrigley Field is only 8.7 and it tends to be a pitcher favored field. However, winds are expected to blow toward right field at 20.8 mph giving any well hit flyball a chance to go over the rafters. I’m gonig to live bet this one, hope the first inning is scoreless and try to grab the Total line at o9.5 or o8.5 if it goes that low.
Picks:
Total o10.5
Cubs Moneyline / -1.5 Spread
James Wood o1.5 Hits+Runs+RBI
Seiya Suzuki o1.5 Hits+Runs+RBI
The Mets vs Reds total is set at 9.5 with the wind blowing toward left field at 10.3 mph. The Reds have 8 hitters in their lineup that have a platoon advantage (right-handed batters vs left-handed pitcher). Furthermore, Mets pitcher David Peterson’s fastball velocity has declined an average of 1.3 mph since last year, down to only 90.6 mph this season. Expect a high scoring game with this one.
Picks:
Total o9.5
Elly De La Cruz o1.5 Hits+Runs+RBI
Juan Soto o1.5 Hits+Runs+RBI
The Brewers vs Pirates is another potentially high scoring game with winds blowing toward left field at 13.9 mph. PNC Park has the 6th highest altitude in the league giving a slight boost to the total. The Brewers have a clear advantage at batting with a .259 team average (ranked 2nd in the league).
Picks:
Total o8.5
Brewers Moneyline
The White Sox vs Tigers has a wild wind blowing toward left field at 19.7 mph. Comercia Park has the 4th lowest average fence height and an average runs per game of 9.4. With the White Sox streaking together some wins and the Tigers hitting a rut I won’t be picking a winner for this one, but the over is looking good.
Picks:
Total o8.5
