9/4 Eagles vs Cowboys Picks and Stats

The first game of the season is here! What used to be an intense matchup between division rivals is now expected to be a blowout with the Eagles spread at -7.5.
No need to overthink this one. The Eagles beat the Cowboys in both games last season. The Cowboys went 3-5 last year before Dak Prescott suffered a season ending injury. This will be his first game back after tearing his right hamstring tendon in November last year. On top of that, the Cowboys top defensive player Micah Parsons was traded. With a weakened defense, sports books are expecting a high scoring game with the total increasing from 46.5 to 47.5 over the last week. However, I’m expecting a lower scoring game with Dak likely out of sync with new offensive pieces on the team. I expect the Eagles to ice the game with Barkley and run down the clock, leading to less points. The safer bet is to tease the total to 49.5, which Hard Rock offers for only -130.
With Dak out of rhythm, there will likely be a handful of off-passes to George Pickens deep down field. Most passes will be short throws to CeeDee Lamb in the slot and under-pressure short passes to Jake Ferguson.
